Rebirthing

It matters how we are born. Healing Earth, through Healing Birth.

Did you know?

Birth can be stressful for your baby and the Father as well?

Baby

Birth's nature is significant... From one world to another - dark, quiet, warmth... Then sudden light, cold, noise, scents, touch... Initial 30-60 minutes after birth are crucial for mother-baby bonding. Best bonding occurs when baby stays with mother in skin-to-skin contact, rather than immediate separation for cleaning, weighing, testing. This aids baby's transition and nurtures stronger parent connection

Father

Witnessing birth complications like maternal hemorrhage, cord prolapse, or neonatal ICU needs can be terrifying. Experiencing their partner's traumatic birth can lead fathers to post-traumatic stress symptoms. During rapid medical responses for complications, fathers lack information and feel disempowered, trapped, and hopeless about their family's wellbeing.

What is Rebirthing?

Rebirthing allows both parents and baby to experience that deep connection , bonding and attachment that should have occurred immediately after birth. For many women childbirth is a joyous, fulfilling and empowering experience. For others it can be one of the most traumatic events of their lives. Memories of childbirth can be vivid, deeply felt, and last many years perhaps even a lifetime.

A number of events during labor or birth such as an emergency, unexpected or unwanted interventions, when the situation changes quickly from “normal” to dangerous, serious problems in the mother, physical damage, a sick or compromised infant, cesarean section and separation from the baby, can be classified as traumatic, with a capital T. Major trauma for a woman occurs in childbirth when she has inordinate fear and is in a situation where she has no control. Other aspects of trauma are more subjective and relate to how a woman is treated during the birthing process. How she perceives her experience, and how she feels about the experience.

Depending on their individual condition, mothers who feel feeling disempowered, violated, or betrayed at birth, are more likely to have difficulty tolerating their infant’s vulnerability and establishing an emotional closeness. Their capacity for feeling tender and warm towards their infants and people close to them is directly affected. Mothers who feel fearful, sad, and withdrawn will have difficulty with the process of mother- infant attachment.

What is a Rebirthing Session

Birth Trauma Tree

It emphasizes that Birth Trauma originates from various underlying factors, each distinct in its impact on the affected woman or partner. Whether one has encountered all or just some of these factors is not the key concern. What holds significance is the emotional aftermath and the sentiments linked to the birthing encounter.

The Birth Trauma Tree underscores that these foundational triggers and trauma-inducing factors can be nurtured by the absence of recognition, misdiagnosis, or inadequate support. Such circumstances allow the trauma's roots to deeply embed themselves, resulting in manifestations observed on the metaphorical tree. This progression sometimes culminates in conditions like PTSD, postnatal depression, or other mental health issues.

This is why the concept of rebirthing holds significant importance.
